  TransNet 2.1 Setup

 Copyright (C) 1996-98 by Marc S. Ressl

Welcome to TransNet! This is a brief explanation of TransNet's settings:

1) Standard configuration

Organization: Your system's name.

Timezone: Specifies local differential hour+min. Either GMT, or a +/- sign
and a 4 digit number (HHMM).

TransNet Internet Address: The email address for TransNet.

Email Inbound Directory: The incoming email directory.

Email Outbound Directory: The outgoing email directory.

Sysop Address: The system operator's address. May be empty, a Fidonet or an email address.

Logfile: Logs all events to this file. If not defined, no logfile is created.

Send error receipts to sysop: This setting is for email messages, and specifies
if error receipts from mail servers should be sent to the sysop.

Receive TransNet News list: Subscribes you to the TransNet news list, so you get always informed of
updates and tips.

Unknown message action: Specifies TransNet's response to unknown messages:

"To Sysop/Reply" sends a copy of the message
      to the sysop and error-replies.
"To Sysop/No Rep" does the same without
      error-replying.
"Reply" error-replies without sending to the
      Sysop.
  "Delete" deletes the message, and
  "Ignore" is quite obvious :).

2) Fidonet Gateway Options

TransNet Fidonet Address: The Fidonet address for TransNet.

Fidonet Mailer: Specifies the Fidonet mailer type.

Setup: Accesses the Fidonet Gateway setup. For more help about Fidonet
options, press F1 on that screen.

* Required settings:

Netmail Directory: The directory storing Fidonet Netmail (private) messages.
It is used to receive/send messages through Fidonet.

* The following two settings are needed if
  TransNet manages echomail:

Mailer Inbound Directory: The directory for storing TransNet-created Fidonet
packets. It should be your "secure inbound" directory.

Packet Destination Address: The receiver's address of TransNet-created
packets.

* Other settings:

Netmail export/import kill/sent: These settings apply to the Netmail/Email
gateway, and specify the attribute of received/sent netmails.

Single user mode: Disables subject-line keywords. Fidonet users can enable
this mode to use email from the Fidonet reader, making it easier since no
keywords are needed. Fidonet system's link-through-Internet still works in
this mode!

File attach Inbound Directory: If specified, stores file-attaches from emails
to this directory. This works only for the sysop, thus to receive a file
the destinatary keyword should be "sysop", or single-user mode enabled.
